The Grass Withers...

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.

At Camp Gideon my nametag read "Artistic Ashley" and I was given the task of making everything look creative and colorful. I made a lot of the signs and posters there. But in my spare time my best friend Jesse and I would sit out on the porch. She would play her guitar and sing beautiful melodies while I doodled whatever came to mind.
One rainy day Jesse told me she wanted to write a song for me. It was pretty silly, something along the lines "Ashley, why do you flare your nostrils at me? Oh, Ashley" That's an inside joke right there. But anyway, I decided I wanted to draw her a picture. She asked for a sunflower and I began right away. Halfway through completion a verse came to mind; the one above.
I forgot to give this picture to her before we left camp, so I'm going to frame it and send it to her instead.


Also, while we were at camp, she began writing a song which I fell in love with. I'm not sure if these are the correct words, and it's still a work in progress anyway:

Wandering in your darkness
Have a glimpse of a new life and you carry it
You are answers to your questions

Searching for shelter in the pouring rain
Drawn to the light like a moth to the flame
Looking for truth shining on these lives
